A suitable finish of floor panels can be found for any purpose, depending on practical and aesthetic properties. PVC is known to be the ideal flooring thanks to its wear resistance and extreme durability.
All available PVC finishes are Antistatic (AS). PVC is also in electrically conductive variants available.

Application areas

PVC, also known as vinyl, is the finish most commonly used for raised floors. Through the versatility it is used in the following industries:

  • Health care

Characteristics

Primary properties of PVC are:

  • – High wear, tear and scratch resistance
  • – (Soft-) caster wheel resistant
  • – Easy and low maintenance
  • – Silent and sound damping, comfortable feel
  • – Large choice in colour and appearance

Ecologic
The production and use of vinyl flooring does not negatively impact to humans and the environment. Research by the EU Commission to the life cycle of PVC shows the high standards achieved by PVC.

The starting point of teh production of PVC is salt and oil (43%). The other raw materials such as chalk, pigments and plasticisers are physiologically harmless.
PVC contains no formaldehyde or PCP, heavy metals, lead or cadmium. Vinyl is a product which has little influence on the valuable resources, in comparison with floor coverings made of polyethylene, polypropylene, synthetic rubber or elastomers. Moreover, production of PVC finishes relatively energy efficient.

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) can not be chlorine-free in the case of raised floors. Should this be mentioned in asked specifications (chlorine-free PVC), therefore must be moved to an alternative finish. Also, PVC sometimes may not be used because there possibly may originate dioxins by combustion. For these reasons as replacement often is opted for a Marmoleum (linoleum) finish.

Hygienic and safe
A large number of studies worldwide have shown that PVC products are no risk to humans. This is clearly demonstrated by the use of PVC in the medical sector: in infusion bags and tubing, bandages and oxygen masks.

Guarantee to flammability
Most PVC floorings guarantees against flammability and are tested in accordance with EN 13501 international standards.

Easy to remove and recycle
Removing vinyl flooring is easy and inexpensive because vinyl flooring and production waste are 100% recyclable.
